Burdekin Falls Dam caravan park. South of Charters Towers, QLD.

Steffo, are you referring to the story of Tom and his gold claim?

The story I'm thinking of has a colonial policeman drawn on the wall beside the text. Too long ago to remember names involved. :D

Townsville. V8 Supercars round up here this week, starting with practice today.
There’s not a native left in the area we’re camped (approx 1.2km from nearest portion of the ‘trasck’), they all leave town when the petrol heads turn up >:D

Cyprus in the eastern Mediterranean. I never thought we would get here and some said we were mad to go. The view one way, and the other.

A mate of mine is an ex-Fed, & he spent 12 months there with the UN.

Don't think his time was quite as relaxed as yours, though :'(

My uncle was stationed here for several years back in the 60s/70s while in the Army. He has mixed memories. It's all peaceful now though, just the sound the occasional Beirut fertiliser store exploding to break the tranquility.
