What did you do in your shed / man cave today?

I am looking at magnets for my home made LED lights, do you mind me asking what magnets did you end up using?  Dont want to high jack the tread, once I have this info i will be assembling in my shed and will post details.

My wife has a fascination with recycled furniture. I have a whole collection of pallets and packers in my shed/garage just waiting for me to finish a huge number of other jobs.
First project will be  a Tv stand, followed by a coffee table.....

We dont have much furniture in our house, yet I can se that what we will have, will be recycled and reused.

and yep, got to love the triton work bench. Borrowed mine from my brother, yet to give back. An XU1 drop saw, comes with built in length adjuster if cut too long.(which translates to its crap and wobbles) borrowed also, and the thicknesser my mate has.

Fixed  a Flat on the rode on today , sorted out a problem on the spray wagon , tryed to empty the shed fridge .
1 task was unsucesful

I think it was the flat that was successful.
Reason 1) you got home to write about it.
Reason 2) if you emptied the fridge you wouldn't be able to write about it

There's not a hugely exciting history attached to this one. It's chassis was originally a spare for Gulf but was never used, so it wasn't put together until 72 even though the chassis is a 65 (?) It is fitted with the original prototype front suspension set up that was used in the GT40. Other than that it was pretty much put together using spare parts. It's just undergone a complete restoration and been sold for lots and lots of $.

As its been over 12months since our last trip, checked all wiring seals etc and measured it up for a drifta setup,and some leccy brakes.

Gave the girlie's Paj an oil/filter change and a quick check over.  Then dragged out (rolled started) the 'back up car' (92 Camry) which hasn't moved in 4 months.  Oil/filter change, fluid check, pump the tyres up, stick the battery on charge and washed whats left of the paint.

Tomorrow my Hilux heads over to my mates man cave for a new clutch, timing belt kit, water pump, all belts, all hoses and all fluids and filters.  She'll be brand new when finished, well 300,000km brand new...

Nothing exciting, just re-routed the drain hose for the oil catch can so it is fixed to the chassis rail near just under the radiator.
Might rewire the twin cig/usb cup holder to the AUX battery tomorrow.
It powers the Dash Cam & GPS, as well as the kids Ipod's and Phones.

Painted a new exterior door for a flat in our rental duplex today as we have new tenants in this weekend and I didn't realise the existing one is buggered.
Just got to find someone to fit it now.

I replaced a few belts on the Patrol with help from my daughter!


It's pretty wet in Brisbane at the moment so once we were done I took the cars out so she had somewhere to ride her bike out of the rain.

Did u do the floor and whats involved in the process, how much did it cost and where do ya get the gear from to do it???

Reconfigured the wiring on my winch. Isolated my already isolated dual battery from my tug/camper when they are plugged in through the Anderson and the engines not running.
Tidied up the coax on my UHF arial.
Dropped my campers fridge slide down a whisker so my wife stops telling me the fridge rubs on the rubber seal when she slides it out.
Started fault finding a small issue with my glow plug circuit.
Started staining a tv unit my son built at school for his room.
Tried to rebuild an old winch but failed.
And finally started sizing up the best way to pack some things for our up coming top end holiday

I didn't start checking things until late this arvo over a couple of drinks and it got too cold so I gave up. Ill have another proper go during the week but I'm now half thinking it could all stem from my battery!

My main cranking battery is getting old and over a few weeks is dropping its charge. I put another old cranking battery in as the dual battery today and she didn't seem to have the issue as bad. I need to load test both batteries, just a quick test of the batteries volts across the terminals when I first glow the engine already shows me it is dropping volts badly when under load so I suspect I may need to buy at least one new starter battery.

Having said that ill still run the tests in those documents you gave me but I can't help but think I'm going to get false readings if these old batteries are not holding charge when they are loaded. I also can only test any changes I make on cold mornings, it doesn't do it when it's warm. So this week hopefully ill get it sorted.

Finished the Anderson plug 'double adaptor '.
I'll now be able to join tug and trailer batteries while plugged in to the solar panels.

Discovered this Lego f1 car. Masters 5 and 3 have helped me with a lot of the harder models. And they have a lot of their own Lego now. So ive decided This one is mine ) (is that fair)
That's about 20% built. Took me 2hrs.
