Just received notification from my nephew, an Alice Springs resident, he spent the weekend in Adelaide, returned to AS Tuesday and went into quarantine at facilities less than a kilometre from his home. Yesterday he was informed the facilities in Alice were under considerable pressure so he was sent to the airport and shipped to quarantine in Darwin. 7 hours in airports and in flight, now 1600km from home.
Doesn’t appear to be to much logic in some of the decisions being made.

Picture from your link.
It is a all to common sight.
Free camps around the Clarence Valley are being left just like this.
It gets closed/gated and then locked, they find another place to thrash.
:(

Is it any wonder that the farmers in Vic are up in arms about the recent amendments to The Land Act 1958 that now allows public access AND CAMPING on stream side farmland that is leased crown land. Access has been allowed for many many years, but camping has not been.

So many issues, like who is liable for injuries in the event of either visitor injuries or damage to farms and their bio security, fences, animal, cleaning up, escaped fires etc.

They now have a tablet that cures that problem.
Just take one and problem disappears forever.

It just needs to be injected at high velocity. ;D

Cane Toads have swamped us here(Clarence Valley), even in the romotest nocks.
We are still a small dot on a map, yet we all
Still contect, word of mouth, Not Rumours.

It was noted a number of times during lockdown up here that it was Qld locals ruining their own spots too. Lowest of the low thinking it is ok to walk away and leave their rubbish.

See it everywhere.  What about the bogans who take some $10 camp chairs, find they break some time during the weekend and they leave them behind. Same with the 3x3m gazebos.

Driving back through Double Island after a long weekend is such a depressing sight.

Busted $10 chairs and gazebo frames hanging from the trees on the dunes.
Not to mention the smoldering fires still smoking away long after the bogans have packed up, done their doughnuts on the beach and gone home.

Disgusting grubs...!!!

I hate rubbish at campsites with a passion.  I always leave site spotlessly clean when I leave even if its another few bags for me to find a temporary home in the back of the ute.  I don't get why moron think that kitchen scraps, bottles, cans, foil etc will burn.
I used to go to double island but don't anymore as it full of brain ****ed bogans now.  The only way to sort it out is to blitz the place with the police and rangers.  Take the details of every 4wd at each campsite and if there is any rubbish left behind - fine every one there.  The bogans would either start cleaning up after themselves or go elsewhere especially when they start getting fined for hooning on the beach.  Ohh and also get 4wd suer center shutdown as they only encourage bogans ;)

Yep!

& as for illegal fires - a drone flying over at a few 000' with a heat sensor will spot any of them instantly >:D

Only one thing though, Scrubber - I don't think you can just pick on 4wd Super Centre - there's lot's of other companies / TV shows / magazines that are just as bad! :'( >:(

Very true but was said "tongue in cheek".  Then again they all seem to have a Kings awning fitted - they say that a Kings awning is good for 30 hp
