please.

we are talking MILLIONS of $$$ in donations...

worth one phone call to a prominent lawyer (she is relatively famous, easy enough, i would have thought), who most probably would have chased it up for nothing (good PR, if nothing else).
Why hasn't anyone pointed the finger at the RFS trust fund?

Someone there must know the rules they work by, and should have realised that what she was proposing was not permitted.

Although giving a NSW body money, to also distributed interstate would have raised some questions.

FFS this is not news any more, it's history that nobody can change, try finding something for today.

Plenty of people raised it at the time, but wasn't as cool to share/report on that than the skyrocketing figure. It wasn't 100% though, hence them going to court to gain certainty.

Animal Keeper Attacked in Lion's Cage
NSW Ambulance duty operations manager inspector Faye Stockmen said it was “one of the worst jobs” she had experienced.
“I have never come across a job like this in my career,” she said. “It was absolutely harrowing.”
Stockmen said she had to walk into the lion’s den to reach the zookeeper.
“It is an incredibly dangerous situations, both for the patient and the paramedics,” she said. “Being the first to walk into the enclosure was one of the most frightening experiences – we literally had to walk into a lion’s den”

This lady, Ms Stockmen went into the lion's cage shortly after 2 lions had attacked and severely injured a female keeper.
I wonder how many of the brave and tough, tattoo and bearded super heroes on the Forum would have jumped at the chance to do the same.
Lady, you are awesome.

They don’t mention the fact that it was probably the truck overtaking that caused the instability of the van/4wd. Obviously nothing the truckie can do about, just a law of physics :'(

Another van/truck altercation
https://mypolice.qld.gov.au/maryborough/2020/05/21/bruce-highway-crash-gunalda-car-and-caravan-collide-with-truck/

Heavy van, lightweight twin cab, very wet, slippey road, van travelling at speed to high for safety...what could go wrong?

The ute looked like it was starting to veer across while the semi was only still at the back of the van though ???

I could be wrong, but to me it appeared that the van had started swinging as the semi reached the mid point of the van. If this is the case, it is only natural for the ute to be swung around like a toy.
Good news that the ute‘s occupants weren’t seriously hurt.

A truck sucking a sh*t load of air, at only the 1/2 way point of the van....nah, would have no effect on the 4wd and van. But still a mystery as to why ?

In the UK a lot of people follow the 85% "rule" (https://www.rac.co.uk/drive/advice/driving-advice/towing-capacity-how-to-work-it-out/)

So, lets take a 2020 Hilux Dual Cab 4x4 as being reasonably representative of the ute in the clip- that weighs in around the 2000kg mark (https://www.toyota.com.au/-/media/toyota/main-site/vehicle-hubs/hilux/files/hilux-spec-data-mar2020.pdf)

Using the UK guideline, the max weight would be 1700kg loaded to tow - not the 2500kg that something like that Jayco may well end up weighing... no wonder the tail was wagging the dog...

Also, the ute in the video was probably doing 90-95km/h as the Truck's dashcam was showing 100. France drops the speed limit from 130 to 110 in the wet, but towing you can't do more than 100 anyway (and most trucks are limited to 90).

Something to think about....

Sorry but trucks do push a big wave of air in front of them, and I've felt in a smaller truck loaded to a gvm of 15 tons when they've started to overtake me

But did it make you change lanes without looking in your mirrors?

All I see in that video is driver error.

I drive a 4.5T pantech type truck and apart from following a big truck, I've never felt any buffeting when one comes up from behind until it actually passes me.
