Id like to throw this into the mix as well, its been mentioned before, the Myswag "train:

The big cost is going to be getting this thing over the Nullabore to the Eastern State's. Once it gets here, ferrying it up the east coast should be a "gimme" because of higher swagger numbers.

Im quite happy to ferry the unit from Melbourne to Wangaratta, or Wodonga. We are down in Melbourne regularly, particularly in the early months of the year when university starts again. Picking up the CT wont add much to the trip costs, and Wodonga is only an hour up the road.

That doesnt mean stop donating, it will still take a lot more $$ to get it over here to us easterners.

So, who else out there can add to the chain?

Maybe if we had an approximate cost to move the CT to where it has to go might help gain some traction for some donations.

$2500 is cheap.

Melbourne CT makers quote $2000 to Perth and $1300 to Brisbane.

The aim here should be to defray as much cost as we can via donations. I presume luke will have to make up any difference, dont know, havnt asked.

Lets say we get to a $1000 in donations, that gets a fair way to the freight cost over to the eastern state's.

Once its over here. it should be a sinch.

I havnt asked George about this approach, he may like it, he may not. Just my idea. It would also have to be insured in some way.

Rather than this thread become both a donation/ferry exercise, perhaps if swaggers that could add to the eastern coast train could PM me directly and Ill record details. We can then look at what we have raised and what ferry options are out there at the end of the month.

It's been said that some one can bring it too wodonga.
I am very happy to put the camper on a car trailer to "keep it new

", tarp over the top and drive it to either sydney or even newcastle if that would help?
Sydney is only 5 hours drive (give or take) and new castle is only another hour and a half.
I still have to do a donation and will do that when I get paid on thursday, but if I could help lower the costs with taking it up that far Im more than happy to help.

Everyone has been so amazing and you's make our day everyday! We can't believe the generosity of all people involved.

Totally agree that it is going to be a fantastic trailer for our family! We can't wait to one day do a big trip to WA and show it off.

My flights are booked and will be coming over to see everyone on frid 1st of feb till sun! Will be good to thank everyone involved in person!

Try Pat Callinan, I emailed him when our son was in afghanistan with the army concerning some posters to make the boys feel at home and he sent over a quite a few copies of his DVDs and his books for the boys. So he might do a story on someone elses generosity

We were thinking of organising a get together that weekend while Luke is here. Suggestions would be either a BBQ at our place in Kingsley on the Saturday night or camping (we could only make Saturday night due to work though) maybe Estuary hideaway caravan park (about 20 ks Sth of Mandurah)

What do you think?
