37 working days and counting down
« on: November 28, 2012, 09:16:26 PM »
got to share,  ;D only 37 working days to go and we hook up the camper and head south for our around Australia adventure.

Gosh it is getting hard to go to work each day, not looking forward to packing up the house, but 12 months traveling around this wonderful country of ours will be all worth it.

Just need to sort out the foster parents for the cat for the year, and it is almost all sorted.

I think work will be sick and tired of my daily count down,  ;D but I am not going to stop  ;D hold on a minute they are sick of it, might have to get one of those flashing signs for above my desk, just so I dont have to say it every day :D that will impress them....NOT

I know how you feel, We must be leaving on the same day as I also have 37 working days to go but my wife and freinds who we will be travelling with only have 17 more working days.
We are also going for a minimum of 12 months.
We may even bump into you at some stage.
We are leaving from WA and will be travelling in 2 Prados and 2 camper trailers.

I am sure you will have a great time.
All the best and safe travels.

Threads like this make me so happy and so sad at the same time !!!

Happy for people who get to do a 12 month trip like this....Sad because I am not one of the ones going in 37 days. I mean now 36 days.

Might see you guys on the road. 50 working days left for us, and then only 6 months off, but it's still long enough to get a little excited . ;D

Always annoys me this time of year.....

Bloody caravans, camper trailers, campervans, mobile homes, all parking in our main street, travelling to our touristy places.

Bloody annoys me. Everytime I see them.  As I drive to work. On a beautiful sunny day. And see them drive on out. And I want to follow. But sadly. Work and other mundane excuses always in the way.

I bloody hate all those people at this time of year.
Why do people ask "What the hell were you thinking?"
Obviously I was thinking I was going to get away with it and not have to explain it....

wow looks like we will have some swaggers to bump in to on our adventure. work is interrupting my planning atm long hours so planning left to weekends. is all so exciting but also nerve wracking but can't wait to hit the road. hopefully we will be leaving bris Vegas and heading south and at some time ending up in wa. hubby will have to be careful i don't get kimberlitis again, might not leave the Kimberly, keep telling work they need a one man outpost there but they won't go for it.

to all my fellow aus trip adventurers will hopefully see you on the track somewhere.

cheers,
pat

I read this and think someone could be organising a "myswag lap". So many people making the most of it and getting out to enjoy an extended holiday touring.

We head off mid June for 6mths. Hope to share a camp and stories with a few fellow swaggers on the way round.

Travel safe and make the most of it you 12 monthers!

25 working days to go now, unless I can snag a flex day in there somewhere. :)

Pick up boxes next weekend to start packing the house up, that is the only thing I am not looking forward to other than the cat. Cant get anyone to take the cat for a year, so it looks like we are going to have to give him up :( which is a real shame as I love the crazy cat. So many people volunteered to take him when we said we were planning the trip, now that it is happening they have all said no. So unless some miracle happens and my sons new place he can take cats, its off to the RSPCA with the cat :( :(.

You would think that I/we would have an itinery worked out by now, but the plan is just to head south then west and see how far we get, there are so many places and things to see, if we see something we like we wont be locked in and miss it like on previous trips.

Looking forward to catching up with fellow swaggers on the road, will post blog address just before we go so if people want to follow our trip they can. :)

Good luck and safe travels to fellow swaggers who are also hitting the road, :)
