Is there sufficient clearance for a rear mounted spare wheel such as that on a Pajero?

Nope

Those wheels are about $4500.

A touch over. His 'mate' lent him a set for a couple of races and then he couldn't live without them after that haha. He reckons they are like an extra gear in the sprints though.

Yeah, they are just crazy expensive but if they were around in my younger days, I'd probably have had a set. 😉

Hurry up corkhead!

I've got the same rack and I have enough room on my Prado with a 285/70/18 tyre.

I'm really enjoying riding the Search, got it setup for day rides.

It is the perfect bike for the Main Yarra Trail with sections of asphalt, gravel, single track and hills.

How do you find the single chainring? I'm not sold on them, from the point of stress with the cross chaining.  ;)

I am used to it as my MTB is 1x11 also, makes it so much simpler from a riding/gearing perspective. This is a purpose designed 1x groupset so it is deigned with the stresses in mind.

EOI - MySwag MTB Ride Day

As there are a few of us in VIC who have MTBs, who is interested in a ride day?

I was thinking Harcourt or maybe Lysterfield if more people can attend. I can lead at Harcourt, however I'd need somebody to lead at Lysterfield as I don't know it well enough to lead.

Yes/No/Maybe?

I'd love to Jamie, but I'm suffering from bad sciatica pending back surgery, so I'm out at the moment

Any of you lot around Brisbane do up older bikes? I have a project bike I would give away to someone who's interested. It is a 1983 Alan Sprint, which is a fully threaded and glued aluminium frame. The frame is ok as I recall, the durace/suntour 7 speed gruppo has been neglected in a shed for a long while. Wolber clinchers are on it. At one stage it was an Optus sponsored race bike and when I got it there were tri bars on it. I was going to do it up but other projects came along. This is a very specialised frame with epoxy joints etc and will damage easily in the wrong hands - not for amateur restorers. It is not made for heavy riders either which also counts this Clydesdale out. Same frame as supplied to Guerciotti.

I'm with chester ver2.0! I fought clipless for a long time, I have them on my CX/gravel bike now and love them. No issues getting out when I need to in a hurry and much more locked to the bike in technical parts. Well worth it!

Sweet bike BTW. I have a 1x11 on mine and it's fantastic. 11/36 on the back with a 46 or 48 I think on the front. Thinking of changing the front to a 42 though as on the big hills it's brutal on my legs.

What noobs forget is. You can adjust the tension of them, so that you can get out of them, very quickly if you need to!

I've pulled out of any Track races for the rest of the year, due to fatigue levels being stupidly out of control this year  :( and also having a crash, two weeks ago, due to a panick breaker.  >:(

Ouch.  :o But I guess when you look at what Zen chainring for my Track bike is worth ($300+) it's okay.  ;D
