I gotta' be one of the odd ones... I started on flats in the late 70's/early 80's. Moved to toe clips with mountainbikes in the mid 80's, then clipless SPD's in late 80's when they came out...

Rode clipless off road almost exclusively unless I was touring (big lap in 92' and Cape York in 95').

But a couple of years back... I switched back to flats.

full circle.

In between power outages and Bathurst, we managed to get my son's project bike back together today, pretty happy with how it turned out. Just needs brake cables, a new chain, custom stickers and it is ready to ride.

I know we all love trick bike gear so I thought I'd post this. I couldn't find a Garmin mount to suit a 35mm bar. Instead I found a K-Edge mount that replaces a spacer. Turned up this morning, 5 minutes to fit and looks very neat.

That's interesting D4D, I didn't know they made bars that thick.  ??? Good find.  :)

Another idea which would be similar - there are Garmin mounts that replace your stem top cap. So even if potentially your steerer tube did not have room to fit the spacer, you could fit the mount as well.

Yeah K-Edge make a top cap mount too. I already had 2 spacers so adding the top cap mount would make the Garmin sit very high, so I went with the spacer style. If you didn't have any spacers the top cap mount would work well.

As they say......N+1. This will be in my stable the first week of next month, minus the wheels as I don't race on high pressure wheels.

Wet weekend, so I spent some quality time in the garage cleaning & tweaking all the bikes. Decided to take the hardtail back to stock and set it up as a commuter/family ride bike.

Gone to a new home

Managed to get out for a ride today with my son, he left a bit of knee skin behind but didn't scratch the bike so all good. :) Also put my hardtail back to being a hardtail rather than a downhill bike, rides really nice, I'm going to keep it for family rides. Stickers finally turned up for the BMX so that is all finished now too.

A little less conspicuous... was funny as I got the typical MAMIL looks as I entered DMurphy but those faces turned to begrudging respect as I set off home.

I had a couple of cool second hand bmx's as a kid so what better way to relive my youth then ride a second hand $20 Diamond Back (laying on the ground) around with my kids on their bmx's. Every holiday other campers always inform me I need a bigger bike.

My new frame was waiting for me, when I got home. So first order of the day was to put my good wheels on it.

Looks like a fair bit of junk. How deep do you need to dig to find the needle in that haystack?
