Chatting on another forum earlier about the new Qld e-scooter laws https://www.qld.gov.au/transport/safety/rules/wheeled-devices/personal-mobility-devices, which have apparently been updated again slightly over the last 3 weeks?

They now include this interesting little snippet:

"Riding and mobile phones

To keep yourself and other road users safe your full attention is needed when riding a personal mobility device.

Holding a mobile phone in your hand or resting it on any part of your body when riding is illegal. This includes tucking a phone into your clothing. The phone does not need to be turned on for it to be an offence.

Mounting your phone to the handlebars is allowed so that it can be used for GPS navigation or as a speedometer.

You can use a mobile phone in your hand when stationary on paths or nature strips
".

So riding with a phone in your pocket is now illegal?

Can't wait for the first charge under that to hit the Courts!

QuoteAge restrictions
A person riding a personal mobility device must be either:

at least 16 years
or
at least 12 years and supervised by an adult while riding the device.
Children under 12 years of age must not ride personal mobility devices.

WTF?

QuoteSo riding with a phone in your pocket is now illegal?

I had a young cop at a booze bus tell me not to have my phone in my shirt pocket once... thought he was joking.

Yep :'( >:(

& don't know if you looked at the bit about speed limits, but you can ride a scooter at 25kph in a bike lane on a road with a speed limit up to 50, but if the road is faster than that, you have to ride on the footpath at a max 12kph ???

Reasoning behind that, according to our Transport Minister, is that it's "too dangerous" to have a scooter going at 25, alongside traffic doing 60, BUT it's still OK to ride a  push-bikes at less then 25, right beside those cars ???  :o

& within 5k of here, that takes out 4 primary schools, 2 high schools, 1 x 0-12 college & a Uni, that have their main approach on 60+ roads!  ::)

But don't rely on cars & buses, get out there & be active! ::)

Sorting and packing stuff away for when we find a new place and l thought about my Track race gear that I have been compiling before I retire. Well there's no change out of $13000 for my race wheels and another $1000 or more for the rubber.  :o Then there are the training wheels and Road Racing Wheels + the frames. Not a cheap sport sadly.  :'(

Can someone tell me why my pics above are pixelated, because they aren't on any other forum platform?  ???

Okay, the spokes are weird and the wheels aren't as clear on here as other places for some reason.  :-\

  Those Corima's will cool him down though, over $7000 for them.  ;D
