From last night at the National at the Annadome. You're looking at the best part of 70kmh when this happened.  :'(

Ouch, passing backmarkers is always fraught with danger especially if you have no brakes.

This was the 20klm Scratch Race and there were the leaders that the clown brought down.

Got me a pair of these coming for my off road excursions and at $89 down from a RRP of $379, it won't matter if they aren't flash on the feet.

Spent the weekend in Bright, we were lucky with amazing weather. Of course I took 2 bikes, retro bike to ride the rail trail and carbon bike to climb Mt Buffalo.

Yes, so no hope of crap sneaking into ya shoe whilst riding along.  ;D At that price and my size, I couldn't not get a pair.  :D

Nice!!

I'd ridden it pretty hard for 2 years without touching it so it was overdue for some loving. Fork, shock, dropper post service, bushes/bearings replaced/lubed, brake flush/bleed, new gear cable. It should be good for another couple of years.

Looks like it was a struggle to stop riding to take the pic :)

It's never a struggle when I see a great sunrise when out on the bike. The Youtube vid shows the real magic of the morning.  ;)

Any comments on custom wheel builders here in Australia.

I've been told the combo of my weight (now down to around 100kg) and the power I'm putting down when sprinting is giving the 30mm deep 24hole standard DTswiss rear wheel a hard time.... it's going out of true within 1000km of riding.
Starting to join some faster bunch rides during the week which are usually relatively flat and often run 40kph plus on the flat sections......

I want to have a set of deep section carbon rims built.... have contacted TWE wheels and his prices seem good and he seems to know what to build for my requirements.

Any experience with TWE? What about craftworx or Caden wheels??

Thanks I'm advance.

Ben.

Sounds a bit odd, what are your power numbers? I'd think it would be more down to type of spoke, tension and lacing pattern. I race with some guys who can put out close to 1000W for 3-5 seconds and they run off the shelf wheels.

I looked at Caden, ENVE and a few others when I recently bought my carbon wheels. I ended up going with Zipp as there was stock available, they had a good warranty and they suited my bike, optimised for 28mm tyres.

Apparently not that unusual at all according to a local wheel builder.

I don't have a power meter. But the guys I am keeping up with in the sprints are a lot smaller than me and pushing out 800-1000watts briefly during the sprints.

Craftworx makes very good wheels, he was the main man when Velocity was based here in Australia.

I'm heavier than you and also race on the Track and have no problems riding with low spoke count wheels.
