Portable highchairs

We have one of those plastic fold up portable booster/feeding seat with a tray which is great, but a little bulky. I love the idea of those material ones that slide over the top of a chair, but I'm not sure if they'll go over a camp chair. Has anyone had experience with this type of restraint?

I don't think you can o past the ikea one, legs come off so it is not that bulky when packed up.

i built one many years ago for my youngest, it then got handed down for the grandkids,,
was simple design, basicly 4 pieces of ply that slotted together to form a seat with sides and a backrest that hung from the table, imposible for baby to dislodge from table as there own weight held it in place,, when you were finnished just pull it apart for storage,, original flat pack i called it..lol took about 30 seconds to put together or take apart.

By chance we just bought two of these today (long story), one available if anyone wants it. We believe the restraints were the subject of a recall, apparently one calls Ikea and they send out replacement belts.

As a side for those who have not realized it, if you take the legs and tray off the ikea chair fits in a dishwasher

So noone has the material ones or seen them in action?? They appeal cos they can squish!! I'm quite happy with the booster we have otherwise....

We use one of the ikea ones also, have taken it everywhere, easy to pack, very light, easier to clean than material being plastic.

That's cool. Had a Bumbo, can't find it now that my wife wants to use it finally. Did it come with the table, or can that be purchased separately? Mine didn't have a table.

I think the wife bought this one separately. We find the Bumbo real handy to feed our 2 yr old. Great for camping as it can be used on chairs, on tables, on a towel on the beach, on a picnic mat etc

Yeah go the Ikea... and easy to hose down...Had the same one for all four kids... after trying to clean the food out of the folds of an expensive one for a short while we got an Ikea...Brilliant

x 2 for Ikea (never taken ours camping but is very compact)

OR

~$30 Kmart stroller + bucket bucket bib ( tommy tippee ) . Stroller then serves 2 purposes when in towns - dont need to carry the lump + highchair. If it looks grotty then chuck it when you get home.

We have 2 of the Ikea high chairs for our twins legs come out and they stack together.
Been camping a couple of times with no issues.

We have been using one of THESE. It does need about 10cm of table top to clamp onto, but works very well and folds completely flat for storage.

we had friends who bought one of those cloth ones... and tossed it out after first use as it was terrible. the sling type that fits onto the table is the best type ive seen...

We've got pretty much everything a kid could have, two of most things, including this one, thoguh we've lent it to some friends. It works well, but is harder to wipe clean than plastic. Avocado; lovely to eat, a b1tch to clean.

we have a Karibu, which is like the bumbo but cheaper and comes with the table where you have to buy the bumbo table separate, plus this table is easier to clip on then a bumbo table, only thing is not very compact, we found the stroller easier last time, and i had to hand wash it when we got home anyway as bubba did a leaky no.2 while we were packing up

Thanks for your replies everyone. I think we'll stick with what we have. I've been trying to come up with super portable options for virtually everything for our big trip, but looks like that one won't be worth it.

Currently packing to head off for a long weekend and this damn high chair takes up so much room.

No ikea within 1000ks from us so after any other ideas plz.

Anyone using the camping high chair that folds into a bag from BCF?
