PLANNED BURNING
Outlook North East Victoria
27 February-4 March 2012

The Department of Sustainability and Environment (DSE) and Parks Victoria (PV) are undertaking planned burning to reduce the risk of bushfire to people, property and communities.

Reducing fuel loads near communities and remote areas can reduce the threat of damaging bushfires to communities and the environment. This means communities may be affected by smoke.

Planned burning is weather dependent, burns will only be undertaken when the conditions are suitable and safe.

Burning Update.
Significant widespread rain across much of the North East will limit planned burning opportunities on public land this week

There are no planned burns currently scheduled for North East Victoria for the next 7 days.

A planned burn at Narbethong scheduled for Friday 24 February was postponed due to unsuitable weather conditions. This burn will be rescheduled when conditions allow.
