SE Victoria - things to see and do with 3 tin lids?
« on: March 29, 2017, 10:53:22 AM »
Hi all, got 2 weeks after the national meet to do some sight seeing in Mexico. Got 3 lids, boy 13, 2 girls around 10.
I'm being lazy in the research and thought some of you locals or well travelled throughout that region may be able to offer up some suggestions.  Was thinking mostly Eastern side of Melbourne as Western side is more readily accessible to us from SA.
Prefer to stay away from city and we have the capacity for self sufficient camping.
And go........

Thanks heaps in advance.

Have a look at far east Cape Conran, Tamboon Inlet & Mallacoota if into beach and bush walks.
Gippsland Lakes - Lakes Entrance & Lake Tyers more touristy but might be good for the kids.
South Gippsland - Inverloch and Wilson Prom or Philip Island could be worth a look

Happy to chat more at Mansfield around the campfire if more info required, but Philip Island and the nightly Penguin Parade coupled with time at Tidal River or Walkerville around Wilsons Prom could be good with kids, and not too far to drive

The coal mine tour at Wonthaggi is great for the kids.

Buchan Caves is nice as well.  They have a nice campground there too.  Was there a few weeks ago. Fascinating!!
