Landline is a good show..
Quote60 years ago, two men took on the challenge of riding motorcycles around the continent as a reliability trial called Transmatilda. It was a time when only 10 per cent of Australia's country roads were sealed. And now that epic journey is being re-enacted. Mike Sexton reports.

There's no Great Evil conspiracy against consumers within engineering, manufacturing and supply. Just the many tradeoffs incurred to satisfy diverse tastes, priorities and wallets. But first comes all the insatiable Gummint eggsperts, nanny-staters and usual suspects.

Great story.  I loved these parts.

QuoteMurray Adams cheated death for 96 years. The collateral damage of three wrecked planes, four cars and two tractors was just the beginning. There was the near-death pneumonia episode following a ski trip to Mount Buller that took six months and a fulltime nurse to recover from

QuoteMurray took a role as manager and secretary of the National Safety Council of Australia (Queensland chapter), a role his family often likened to "putting the fox in charge of the henhouse".

A Fortunate Life by A.B.Facey reminded me of my dad so I asked him to write about his life for me, it came back ok, all 1 and a half foolscap pages, just didn't occur to him that his life was anything worth writing about or was of any interest to any one else  :'( :'( :'( :'(
