A bumbo might work.  Depends how old your little one is (and how chunky their legs are). Ours didn't really take to it but we have the IKEA one too and just ended up taking that. In sure you've looked but eBay might have some new ones for sale too

Thread dig!

Currently packing to head off for a long weekend and this damn high chair takes up so much room.

No ikea within 1000ks from us so after any other ideas plz.

Anyone using the camping high chair that folds into a bag from BCF?

Can your kid sit by itself?   We just use a picnic rug and sit our one year old on the floor.  We've got one of these at home strapped to a normal dining chair,  it might attach a camp chair or kids camp chair. Has an inflatable seat. Packs down to nothing

hade a longreply and phone lost it so here is the short version. Go to supercheap. They have camping highchairs. They fold up just like a camp chair in their own bag. Pink or blue.

Trying to find the time to use our camper . . .

We use these and strap them to a regular camping chair.  Simple and easy to pack up and store.

We have taken to just using our old faithful from IKEA. The legs and table come off easily, it's hard plastic so easy to clean and wipe dry.

I looked at a folding thing made like a camping chair and it was stupid. Not rigid enough, too hard to clean and will stay wet if the child spills something

Those are what I was referring to as flimsy and unstable

great chair, sturdy and stable. Great camping and even had a few runs on picnics etc.

Thank you everybody that replied with their suggestions.
We will check out those folding camp chair style ones as they're compact, cheap and we have a supercheap and BCF in town.

We have used one of the portable folding booster seat with table (backrest folds down and has straps to secure to a chair), a Bumbo and a chair similar to the BCF/Supercheap type folding style. Of all of them, the first was the best (we live on the road and found the Bumbo too bulky, not able to be secured if on a chair and the tray pulls off too easily, the folding chair is a PITA to clean being material and the tray part is not solid enough....think learning to eat a bowl of yoghurt ;) ....and the cup holder was a fraction too small for her water bottles). If we had another bub, I'd look on eBay/Gumtree for a secondhand Fisher Price or similar one as they come up pretty often.
