Sorry RallyDog but i think your post needs to be shifted to the Fiction Section. ;D ;D ;D

Unfortunately the cynic in me says this was honesty through fear due to surveilance.

Had my car dinged by a parent at my school. She left a note with with her phone number on my windscreen. I didn't notice anything as approached the car, so the note came as a big surprise. Hunted around the car for the damaged until I finally found a tiny bit of red paint on my passenger door. It almost wiped completely off with my finger. I really appreciated her honesty and sent her a text saying not to worry about it.

Years ago in a large reasonably empty car park I parked the commodore, did the shopping, came out to find that the car next to me had put their trolley against my rear bumper (so it wouldn't roll away), didn't bother to hold it, or put it I the empty spot on the other side.

Not wanting to bother them I walked around the front, started and smoothly rolled back, a quick jab of the brakes sent their trolly rolling off into the kerb, where it then fell over.

No risk to other cars the car park was almost empty, only 2 cars in the section I was in, 1 after I left.

Why is it that when you go to a shopping centre carpark and park your car way over the back all by itself with tons of empty parks all around you that when you come out there is always another vehicle parked right up close next to you. >:(

or a Shitty shopping trolley. About time supermarkets upped the cost of using a shopping trolley. A token worth $50 should fix it.

The answer tho is Yes.  Last week we had a flat pak kitchen delivered. Two of the 57 cartons were not part of our order, so we took the two boxes back to the supplier. Said to the guy at the counter, "just returning these, as they were incorrectly delivered and are not part of our order"  Guy looks at me.  I respond with, " We had a kitchen delivered, these belong to someone else as they belong to a bed, they were not on our order. You don't owe us a credit".  He was so taken aback and responded with " Gosh thanks very much for being honest"

My motto is if you're honest, you can't get caught out.

I would like to think that most people would put their hand up and take responsibility for damaging someones property.
Unfortunately this is becoming all to rare these days.
Many years ago an older woman backed into the drivers headlight of our VL Dunnydoor while it was parked at work.
She came in to work asking who's red Commodore was parked in the car park, she was very distressed and shaking. I recognized her from living near a dairy on my way to work.
We both went out to check it out, there was no panel damage just a broken head light.
So there and then I rang the wreckers, who I got on well with, 130 bucks, she drove out there and picked it up.
That night I replaced it without too much drama.
The following afternoon on my way home I dropped a couple of big blocks of chocolates off to her on my way home to say thank you.
Her son who has Down syndrome squeezed me to death with cuddles, saying thank you thank you.
A couple of days later the owner of the dairy dropped into see me with a hand written thank you note from her and he thanked me for helping her out, he explained she had no insurance, her car was due for rego soon, and her husband had not long past away and her son needed a lot of help.
This something that I will remember for many years.  ;D

I don't understand why others that have insurance or can well afford to fix their mistakes don't put they hand and take responsibility  ???

I got side swiped whilst parked on Mooloolaba Esplanade. A couple of holiday makers found me while I was looking at my wrx wondering wtf happened and gave me a piece of paper with the rego of the offender on it.

Found out the owners name and drove over to their house to say hi and it turned out to be a coppers wife!

That was an interesting meeting of the minds lol..........

This is a pic my brother sent me a couple of months ago.
Apparently, a car snagged the towbar then dragged the camry over into the other one. The said car then did a runner.

I have been sitting in cars on several ocasions and had Air Bandits open their doors into mine knowing full well I was sitting in the car...there is NO hope...

i don't think it's anything new really...many years ago i borrowed my brothers car to drive to work and the plumber on site backed his ute into the front of it causing some minorish damage (but enough to need repair work done to it). The plumber drove off and the only way i found out about it was another mate on the site saw it happen and came and told me about it and who'd done it. The plumber returned to the site about an hour later and i hit him up about the damge, he reckoned he was going to come and tell me he did it, but i know he wouldn't of except someone else had seen him do it.
My mum also had her new couple of months old car damaged in a shopping centre carpark about 3 years back, a large section of the rear arch above the drivers side tyre was pretty badly dented in, where some clown had cleaned he car up trying to swing into the carpark beside her.....they did a runner and she was left to look after the damage herself  ::)

30 years ago I was sitting in my dad's brand new company car and someone opened their door onto it and caused a dent.

Their attitude was "So what, it's only a car". needsless to say I got their rego number as they drove off and found another poor unsuspecting car to park beside.

The are two possibilities that I can see

1.  They don't have insurance

2.  They have insurance but are too tight to pay the excess.

Fortunately the wife has insurance and the $$ for the excess.    Yep still laughing :cup: :cup: :cup: :cup: :cup: :cup: :cup: :cup:

About a year ago I pulled into a car park next to another car.  As I was about to get out, the driver returned to her car with trolley in hand.  She went to the back door to put her groceries in on the back seat.  I sat and watch thinking she had better hang on to that door in the wind.  Sure enough, BANG...!  I get out of the car to approach said woman.  She was merrily continuing to empty her trolley, supposedly unaware of her actions.  I asked her if she realised her door had hit my car.  She said no it didn't...! I pointed to the mark on the door to which she replied it was there before she arrived.  I told her I was in the car at the time and saw it happen.  She then said it was my fault for parking next to her and not somewhere else.  I explained that was no excuse to which she then accused me of racially abusing her.  As she finished loading her car, I took some photos of her car and the damage.  She then told be its no point as this wasn't her car. She drove off almost hitting a couple of cars on the way out.

I passed the info to the police who charged her with leaving the scene of an accident without exchanging details and driving an unregistered vehicle.  I believe they also had a word to her about reverse racism...!

Occasionally there is justice in this world...!
