Kogan TV's feedback
« on: June 09, 2014, 11:09:45 PM »
Swaggers,

Just after some feedback on Kogan TV's if any of you have them. We all know they are pretty cheap but interested to hear what the quality is like? Screen, Build quality and longevity.
Will only be for home use, our current box has gone Black and White  8)
Some really good specials on them at the moment. Probably looking at around a 52", just right for the footy :)

Thanks in advance

  BD

Got one in the swan and at home  I think its a 32 inch in one of the rooms. Sound is not great but I think pretty good value. Mine have been running for a couple of years

Agree not great on sound, but run ours through a stereo. price was right, no problems with picture.

I have the 24in 12v model with built in dvd player. If u r only buying for home use i would avoid the built in models as they disconnect power to the dvd every time u switch to tv tuner & that means loading dvd's with no memory of stop pt every time u switch back. Otherwise what they said: picture quality is excellent, sound not so good. (Of course these issues could be purely related to being 12v capable & therefore deliberate to minimise power use)

We've had one running demo loops at work now for at least 3 years, running 8+hrs a day, has never played up
We've swapped from the camper to a van yay! :)

Thanks for the feedback gents. Some food for thought. Not too fussed about the sound that's what the loudspeaker is for

Some are made from surplus pc monitor panels which is a slightly different ratio to a normal tv. Ok if you like black bars on yr picture.

52 inch version shouldn't be an issue though...

We bought one for Jayco Eagle.  I have no idea what size it is but it has the built in DVD player.  We are not overly happy with it, the screen is hard to see if watching from certain angles, is really only a clear picture if you are looking straight & level at it otherwise the screen just looks black.  We thought maybe this was just a feature of LED TV's as we have a plasma at home but we have a friend with a Panasonic LED that can be watched from any angle.

RE Sound :  Just make sure that the tv has a headphone jack / socket ..

Our Soniq brand TV has no outlet to run speakers or headphones , so in the wet season we can hardly ever hear the bloody thing .. Oh its got red green white yellow hdmi usb and every other slot or hole but no sound out ..

cheers

I got a 60inch Tele from Goodguys earlier this year for around 600... Bike racin and footy are sweet on it... :)

Play them against each other... and Dande GG's is cheaper than Franga one by lots - before you start haggling.
