Read your pds. I did and it says I am covered anywhere I'm legally allowed to be, unless engaging in racing or other professional type activity.

Most policies have a "reckless and negligent behaviour" clause.

Covers them against the idiots.....

Would it? What would they claim?
I can't see an insurance company paying out just because it broke and they left it behind.
Happy to be enlightened, though.

Anyone else want to add to the list? I've just emailed my broker to find out.

Email.....

Just a question in insurance for Patrol and Camper Trailer.

If I'm out on an unofficial track in the desert/ high country and I have to abandon both or either and I insured?

If I'm doing a water crossing and get washed down stream are the two insured?

If I'm driving on a beach and get bogged and the tide comes in, am I insured?

I ask these questions in regard to the pic below, which was in the desert out the back of nowhere.

Cheers

The email from my broker:-

The policy is an accidental loss or damage and PLEASE USE COMMON SENSE WHEN TRAVELLING.
Otherwise those examples that you gave would be covered under the ****** policy wording we have issued for you
Policies ***** and ******.

I also took the liberty in speaking with the motor underwriters and they also stated that the below circumstances were also covered under the **** Policy  wording we issued.

Cheers

After seeing countless burnt out wrecks up in the NT, I asked around about it. I was advised not to leave a vehicle or trailer/caravan alone if it broke down as it would be vandalised and torched in less than 24 hours. You will also notice that many of the burnt wrecks are upside down - this is because some of the running gear is worth something and its easier to get off in the middle of nowhere with the vehicle upside down. This is also where lots of the clothes come from that is used to dress up termite mounds at the side of the roads.
