This could be a trip breaker
When traveling to the ' NT " to the main tourist spots is there any  is there any restrictions to how much grog can you carry . Is there a limit to how many slabs / Spirits / wines/  & other things you can carry . Or is this just a load rating on the CT springs . l am not talking about the community's  just the main hot spots . Any  clues  for me .  ( l hope )

Main hot spots no there is no limit you will need to show ID if you purchase a large amount so you dont on sell it

There are some restrictions when going through the meranee loop road and other areas in NT bu they are loosly enforced and even if you are caught with grog as long as it is an amount that can be justified as personal consumption a warning is probably the worst you will get

Just pack it out of sight somewhere you you will be right

We've just gone from Borroloola (no take-away grog sales ar pub, but maybe during the day at supermarket) to Daly Waters Pub (moderately expensive for take-away prices) to Katherine where the discount bottle shop in the main street seemed pretty good on price.

I think we'll be carrying excess baggage when we leave town.....

With the recent (last year) change of government in the NT there was a lot of changes.  You can carry grog on the Tanami itself, provided you are a bona fide traveller, but you cannot take it into or give any out in the communities.  If you have to pull in to a community to get fuel, then your grog MUST be not open and completely out of sight.
I do not know about the other hot spots that you could be talking about.  Mulan, my home community, is itself not a dry community, however we do not allow anyone to drink inside the community.  We have selected drinking spots were people do indulge, and these places are monitored, and those that use it must return the nextr day and completely clean the area up.

Hi Steve
You would, or should, know that our community is very much governed by the senior law men, and that is how it should be.  Elders are here to consider things, talk with each other, and hand down decisions that must be obeyed, and they have never made awrong or bad decision that I have ever known about.  It is for the senior law men then to enforce the instructions of the Elders.

TJ Thanks for the info , really helpful indeed . The question of grog was asked & as far as traveling with it outside of the communities l didn't see a problem . Apart from that its all good . As l always say if you don't know ask

Pretty much as said.........travelling through on main routes you are ok, but when staying in prescribed areas of the NT with grog is a no no........there are dirty big blue and white signs to tell you when you are entering a prescribed area.

The cops and the local rangers can and will check your car at random........its all a big game of cat and mouse with grog runners.

After 6 weeks in a prescribed area..........man am I tonguing for a beer
