Nothing will stop a battery powered angle grinder.  Just need to make the neighbour's look more attractive to steal  :D

Not wishing to go off topic, but this risk was one reason I changed to the OzHitch, in that it is much less likely a 'tea leaf' will be able to steal my rig,

They'll just take it by the chains
I owe, I owe, it's off to work I go...

True!  I wonder what the most unattractive colour is?  Rust, textured feces brown, camo or pink with purple spotts? :D  I've sprayed mine textured black to match the rock rails.

Only a single chain on the Heaslip and that is padlocked in a tight loop around the OzHitch pin, which is combination locked into the trailer end of the hitch.
Depending on how far We will be from the trailer I also lock the stabiliser legs and / or fit the wheel clamp.
I know that, in the big smoke, trailers are stolen and sold for scrap, but like to think that is a bit more difficult in the bush.
In the end though, as others have said, just so long as it makes the neighbour's an easier target my rig will probably be safe.

How do you lock the stabilizer legs?

Never thought of that. Also a good deterrent I would think.

Any chance of a pic?
Why do people ask "What the hell were you thinking?"
Obviously I was thinking I was going to get away with it and not have to explain it....

Had the same thing happen to us, a mate towed our CT to a rello's place up the road 50k or so, then went back for theirs.

You were lucky as I have heard that some "locals" use them to open your windows!!!

Since then have always had one of these [2 actually].

The Heaslip has 'drop down' square section stabilisers in the rear corners of the trailer body.
Adjust with a pin through holes and fixed with an R-clip.  I just replace the R-clips with padlocks.
I agree with Speewa, in that crooks take whatever they like, however I recon that this would slow them down a bit, hopefully sufficient for them to "move on".
