« on: April 01, 2013, 10:11:32 PM »
G'day all.

I'm Darren, I live in North East VIC and have owned a Tambo Omeo since Feb 2012. I've enjoyed having a look around the place here and can see that I'll pick up some great ideas.

I'm am heading up to the high country on Thursday for a week or so with my family, and can't wait to leave town life behind  for a bit 8).

Cheers
Darren

A Tambo in the high country, a very appealing combination.

Thanks for the welcome all. Not sure where we are headed as yet, we will probably decide over a beer tomorrow night while looking at some maps. Hopefully my new tyres arrive in time....

Welcome to the Forum Darren, a great choice of camper and also destination. We spend a fair amount of time up in the high country and its one of the families favourite destinations. Hope you have a good time and show us some happy snaps when you get back

Unfortunately I'm back at work after a nice week away  ;D

We ended up camping near the King Hut on the Upper King River. There was lots of relaxing involved, a couple of day trips, surprisingly only a couple of hours fly fishing, but always a couple of cold Fat Yaks by the fire at night. The week went very quickly!

Here are a couple of snaps for those who are interested:

Home for the week:

Waders drying in the morning sun

Walking down from Mt Sterling

My pride & joy (well, one of them  8) )

Drought has certainly hit north facing trees hard over the years:

The family & I @ Craigs Hut:

The Sister in Law and her family about to go over the edge:

Yep, Craigs Hut again:

@ Lake Cobbler:

It's nice when the sun come out and warms things up:

Well past "beer o'clock" at the other end of the day:
