Hey mate,
My heart goes out to you and and your wife. Rest assured that she will get the best treatment there is.
My trouble pales into insignificance when compared to a loved one.
As someone mentioned, the heroes and role models arent actors or sports stars - its the people in the health services and their sacrifices that should be looked up to.
My wife is out of hospital now, still quite bad, but better than being so far from home.
The A&E service, the RFDS flight, the hospital bed, the numerous scans and tests, the needles & medications, the numerous other aspects, ...
Thankgod for Medicare. We would be selling our house to pay for it if it wasnt for medicare.

Those nurses are in a Thankless and demanding job, it takes a special type of person.
Why do people ask "What the hell were you thinking?"
Obviously I was thinking I was going to get away with it and not have to explain it....

I think the Government really needs to have a good hard look at the health system... then fix it! The hospital staff are grossly underpaid and over worked. Ive had a couple of spells in the Royal Melbourne after major surgery. The nurses in there are bloody angels! Nothing was to much trouble.  Phil
