i wonder if they were the 2 single prop war planes that left Archerfield airport not to long after the 5.30 a.m service started on tv. We are not a long way from that airport, the 2 planes were pretty loud at that time of morning, standing out on our street they turned above us not real high in the air shortly after taking off....I stopped watching the service for about 30 seconds as I watched both the planes disappear off into the distance
P-51D Mustang and a MkXVI Spitfire from " Fighter Pilot Adventures " Archerfield .. Was fantastic for them to do a flyover Coolangatta / Tweed this morning .. The sound of those Merlins purring away as they pulled up into the turn and the faint sound of the last post being played further down the street, breaking the quiet of the early morning was brilliant .
Stick that up the QLD health ministers Bum for denying permission for a Four aircraft flypast for ANZAC day . They each must have been on a " maintenance check flight " accidently at the same time
