Do these work purely on line of sight?
I have a job involving injecting resin into cracks on a carpark ramp, & thinking i need a spotter underneath just in case i pump to much resin into the crack from above.
I will be using an epoxy paste to prevent any leakage, but more about if i get a blowout (resin is pumped in at 3-6000psi)
Was thinking of some cheap 2way radios as a communication route.
Has anyone used in a similar scenario & if so can you recommend a brand??? I was originally thinking something from Supercheap

TIA

All men dream but not equally. Those who dream by night in the dusty recesses of their minds wake in the day to find that it was vanity; but the dreamers of the day are dangerous men, for they may act their dream with open eyes to make it possible.

Through a concrete ramp shouldn't limit them - you'll also get some canyoning etc which will help.

Different quality obviously but when the kids were little we used cheapy handhelds to keep in touch etc around caravan parks and in the bush and while they had limitations (probably more power related) buildings, rocks etc didn't seem to impact them.

I reckon like anything if you get decent ones you should be sweet

I'd suggest finding a clear channel would be more of a challenge than the distance they will transmit/receive.

We use them all day at work through concrete structures, 1 watt might be ok, 5 watt would be best. As D4D said, a clear channel is hard to find at times, the new 80 channels help. We have dedicated channels and we never get interference which is great

Hi,
Some radios have a system where a sub audible tone can be set which must be present for the audio to be heard.
It means that once paired, you won't hear other chatter.
However you may cut across other conversations.
Cheers

See if you can borrow a couple first...
Cheap ones suffer badly from interference, some of the 5w ones are very impressive but $
