Hi everyone,
Have decided to make the transition to camper trailer and after some suggestions please!
Budget is 20G, open to second hand or new. Would prefer hard floor for a bit of extra storage for fishing gear etc, prefer to sit and cook outside. 2 adults and a big dog!
Some off road use but not hard core (yet!).

Things that are important - quality canvas, we do camp in areas that can be very windy and stormy.
Slide out kitchen.
Fridge slide.
They are the main things. It would be nice to have a reasonably quick setup.

Second hand seems to provide better value most of the time so being open to it them is a good idea.
My advice would be to go to your biggest local caravan & camping expo to see all the different styles in one place for easy comparison but leave your wallet at home. Then hire what you think is the best option(s) for you, there are generally people who offer their campers for hire fairly cheaply on Gumtree and actually using one can be very different to just inspecting one, it tends to clarify what is actually important and what you thought was but really isn't.
Then start looking on the used market to see what is available. My initial thoughts are that hard floors aren't known for their storage space but once you start looking you will figure out what is and isn't important for you, and from what you have said cub campers would be worth a look.

As said.. go hire what you can.. walk around and touch as many trailers as you can.

but you'll find soft floors have much more storage room in them
