Only just came in from outside rewiring my 12 pin plug after forgetting to unplugging the van before moving the car bugger. A quick google I found this. Just make sure you follow the plug or socket which ever is appropriate , in my hast I got it wrong on first attempt.

IMHO I would leave the Anderson plug on, better current rating. I have seen far too many 12 pins burn out.

A normal 7n pin plug should sit in a 12 pin socket without a hassle, that's the way they are made.
Don't know why you would handicap yourself by reducing the capacity of the wiring for charging the equipment in your camper.
The smaller the wiring the longer it takes to transfer the same amount of juice.
The smaller wiring will also heat up significantly more.
That's why people had the 6B&S discussions.

I made up a short adaptor for the occasions where I tow with the falcon. A 12 pin plug connects to a 7 pin and Anderson.
Something like this might be suitable for what you need.
