How cool is this?

I know there are folks who love their Foxwing waning, but I've always thought they were too much. This concept makes every side awning that much more versatile.

So, who is going to start on a prototype to fit the ARB racks?

Has been around quite a few years now.

I thought about getting one but instead just have mount points for my awning on the rear of my roofrack that allow me to lift it off the side and put it on the back.  Takes 30secs max ... but I don't find myself using it that much to be honest.

yea as Chisel said been around, and poison expensive... I think from memory a dude on Eoz had one years back.. it worked, but not at that price.

Useful and for less than two day's wages, looks like fair value to.

What makes you say 'poison expensive' Lost?

I'd say because if you buy there way over the top priced awning and Freds arm, you're looking at $1014 and that's only a 2.5. x 2.0m side awning ???

You can buy a Supa-Peg Super-wing awning for that, then you don't need Freds Arm :cup:

I think these are a great idea. For me, the ability to have it rear or side would give me the best flexibility without setting up something that covers both (foxwing). However, for me, I can't justify the spending at the moment.

Perhaps, BigJules, here is an opening for another product for you. The "Mallee awning arm"  ;D

If they made one that the vertically challenged could use (would probably have to be remote controlled!) I reckon SWMBO might be more likely to go for one!!

I went to a canvas place in Mordiallic, and he made an awning to my specs for less than an ARB one.

Mine comes out off the back of the car 2.4mtrs, then drops down to the ground with eyelets at the bottom for pegs, and if I remember ties to hold it to the 2 poles to stop flapping.

not spring loaded, so you wind up manually, but for the price, its functional.... Shame I hate the roof rack.

I'm happy with our Rhino Fox Wing. Just as easy to set up and I don;t have to decide if I want to cover the front or back. This is cleaver but more than a fox wing so why would you?

I like the idea of the fox wing. The thing for me is Fred's arm gives you the opportunity to setup either out the side or back depending on what your camp site is like without having to have both. Our camper trailer awning is the big area and something like a Fred's are would allow for those day trips or where you just need somewhere to sit in the shade, or the lunch time stop on the side of the road. Add to this the fact I'm lazy so a Fox wing looks like too much work to put up for me!!

But for "us" this is all kind of redundant since our canopy purchase fell through I'd have no where to mount the arm anyway  :'(

They do look really goof but I am that lazy that 2 poles are enough!!! The killer is we would need a canopy on our twin cab to get the benefit (foxwing or freds arm for that matter) and as it has fallen through, sux to be us!!
