Some mistakes are too much fun to make only once.

Grew up with Star Trek. As a kid used to watch the original series through the hallway door because I was supposed to be in bed.
Eventually the olds relented and I was allowed as a special good behaviour treat.

In NZ it used to be on a 6pm.  We watched it as a family over dinner.  Star Trek and ham steaks pineapple. You can't beat that!

However, it did cement my love of sci-fi.

Just heard on the news.
Apparently he signed off his last tweet ... "LLAP"

Given that TV seems to provide 'role ,models' for so many these days, kids could do worse than take that as a 'mantra' and the thoughtful Vulcan as a model.

X2.  LLAP...

My sister, who owns and runs sci fi conventions, said that Leonard (unlike some actors) was a genuinely nice guy.

A couple of years ago she had him lined up with Zachary Quinto for some very special Star Trek Conventions but had to can it at the 11th hour as Quinto's filming schedule had a last minute change, preventing him from coming here. Ahh, what could have been  :'(

LLAP Mr Nimoy!

Although he will be most remembered as Spock, he played William Bell in another sci fi series called Fringe that I enjoyed. He was great in that role playing both a hero and villain.

RIP.
