Welcome aboard.  I'm a newb in Townsville too.  I'm checking out the Ecomate Explorer next week with a view to buying something like it or a used Aussie made rear fold.

I've never owned a camper and can't wait to ditch the tent and plastic tubs which we cram into our car for camping trips now!

Oh my god. Moved the maiden voyage forward a week. Now that was a good idea NOT. Sitting in camper on the beach front getting slammed by a storm.  If hubby says 1 more time "oh this is a good test" I'm going scream.

Oh dear, yes there is a fair bit if thunder outside at the moment, but hubby is right it a good test!!
You will be right we got belted at conway beach in our ecomate and all stayed dry!!

How exciting.  We have ditched the tubs and invested in fat max tool box. So much easier for us and saves room

We made it through lol. High and dry. Passed the test with flying colours. I think if any chance of rain on a trip more than 1 night main annex will be used. Oh and must remember to pack a hammer

Good to hear you stayed dry, did you stay at the caravan park or on the river?

Where to next?

Not sure but hopefully sooner then later (tomorrow works for me  :D). Next trip must be somewhere we can have a fire. Not quite the same "camping feel" without it.
Will have to stay local until we can work out how to shift some weight around.
