not sure what the motivation in a sudden name change is , just hope it is not to please the minority groups

With the imminent death of V8 aust production cars I fear that the entire concept is doomed. Can you imagine our grand kids barracking for the "lowest polluting battery cell" buzz box that climbs the mountain using the least amount of solar juice whilst emitting the lowest db soundwise??
Pessimistic? Maybe,  but far from the future truth? Maybe not.....

Will still be called mt panorama for foreseeable future, just like Ayers Rock,

No amount of paperwork can change tradition even if it is only 50 odd years of it.

Yep ... remember all the hullabaloo when they changed the name of Ayers Rock to Uluru.

And let's not forget that this mountain had its indigionous name for quite some time prior to it being called Mount Panorama.

The rock is still the rock, and the mountain will remain the mountain.

I wouldn't get too worried about it. Theres a plethora of far more needy causes that one could get all hot under the collar about. The Northern Hairy Nosed Wombat could use a hand, poor bugger is critically endangered.
