Hi,

Firstly, not sure if this is the most appropriate place to put this question up ... so sorry if that is the case.

In short, I'm looking for recommendations on where to get an off road trailer made. I may eventually put something like an OZTent on top of it, but for the time being just need it to lug my camping gear around in.

In short, I'm happy to fit it out over time myself ... but am not confident about taking on a trailer build myself ... welding skills are almost non-existent.

Would welcome peoples experiences and also if you are happy to give some indication of what I should expect to pay for a robust off road trailer ?

I'm in the Hills district of Sydney, but will travel for good work.

Cheers

We bought a trailer from Great Western Trailers (in Parramatta) many many years ago and have abused the daylights out of this thing (green waste left for months, never garaged, towed places it shouldn't have been behind the Cruiser etc... and it is still in great condition. We got a custom size (6x5) gal with extended draw bar and high sides.

Price was reasonable (not the cheapest around) service was OK but the product has been fantastic.

Check out Dean trailers in Bowral, they build a really good product.

Southern cross does good stuff. Just don't count on dealing with them by email.

Thanks for the replies.
I did approach one camper trailer builder and asked about a trailer with no tent. The basic (albeit tough and wel built) was over $8k....just for a trailer. Although I liked the gear, the price I thought was over the top.

Have you tried "Holiday Trailers" in Yennora , I have one and it is well built, I got mine second hand so can't comment on sales and service.
