Mate has a Carnival  ( he's got 4 kids ).....he loves it ..plenty of room...200Kw....goes like the clappers ( for a people mover anyway ! )

The diesel would be nice as well...

Mate at work has one. About a week before a family trip to the Goldie the engine went "BANG"!

It was a few weeks out of warranty. NO JOY!

Apparently there is something inherently wrong with the engine.

We have the grand in diesel. I find it excellent. Great ability to be able to change seating arrangements. Not too much like a bus. It's missing some luxuries (our last car was the odyssey). But it's fantastic for a large family

We have a 2012 grand and like it a lot. Heaps of space, even with all seats in place, comfy, goes well.

They have had a complete engine change since the early 2.5l that gave so much trouble.

No 1 son has a diesel Grand. Plenty of pickup, lots of space, comfort etc - a smart people mover.

I wonder what the poor people are doing?

yeah the old rover motor was crap that was in the old shape but since then kia had money problems and hyundai brought them out. So all motors in kia cars can be found in a hyundai somewhere. I am assuming I am one with the 4 kids gronk and I still can't believe how hard it goes makes my bf falcon ute feel slow. The kids love it

After buying it you can suggest getting a smaller second car, maybe a 200 series. There smaller.
Here for a good time, not a long time!

We have the Kia carnivals at work for rental vehicles. Never had any major problems, hardly any warranty issues either that I can recall. and we are on our 3rd batch. And rental cars don't have an easy life.

The latest batch are the diesel, fuel economy is unreal, the petrols seemed to be a bit thirsty.

The earlier models blow up the engine.
The newer models are fine.
