I see that MDC have just released the Aussie Nomad Camper, which is apparently 100% Australian made. I had my heart set on a Trackabout Dakar Extenda, but looking at the specs of the MDC Aussie Nomad it could be a tough decision. Has anyone compared either of these side by side at a show recently? Just wanting to know how the 2 stack up side by side. Pro's and Cons of each I guess.
Hi Campertrailer,
The MDC Nomad Trailer component is made my Metlink at Meadowbrook
www.metlink.com.au , same company Trackabout, Lifestyle & Modcon use to/or have made make parts for their camper trailers up until MDC Secured a very large contract with them. Powdercoating is done at one of the best powdercoaters in town at Richlands and is rock solid. The canvas tent is made in house at MDC by an ex Customline supplier with wax converters canvas
www.waxcon.com.au . ALL 100% Australian Made in Brisbane.
As this is a new model, there is far less customers out there as compared to the rest of our campers.
So far reviews have been positive and there is a bunch of features combined not seen in other Australian made trailers at the 35K mark, including TV, Porta Potti, Media System, Slide Out BBQ, Slide & Swing out Fridge Slide, Hot + Cold Water, Cooper AT3 Tyres all round, dual spare wheels etc. The MDC Nomad has revolutionary in house designed concealed hinge system on the side door compartments and it makes a very attractive looking smooth lines down both sides of the trailer.
The trailer has already been put through its paces in the VIC High Country with 4WD Action and came through unscathed.
"campertrailer" should you require a viewing in person, please come down to our Brisbane showroom at 1/8 Boyland Ave, Coopers Plains and we'll be more than happy to show you through.
Happy Camping
