We did the drive along the back of the key holes, from the Causeway to the north.
NOT recommended if you like your paint work, and that is from either direction.
Here is a short video of the Troopy along the muddy puddles. Watch for the pipes if you chose to skirt the outsides of the ponds, they are broken and there are some that stick up but are below the water surface.

Both have a back road to the main access track which can be used at all tides. It has 2 short deep creek crossings. If you look at the map, you can see the track I mention.
Tracks 3, 5 and 7 are where the toilets are.
There is a ban on driving at high tides, be real nice if folk obeyed it!!!!!! A - holes
