Places to Stop
« on: March 27, 2014, 08:21:04 AM »
I started to get a couple of suggestions on another thread about a totally different subject, so I thought I would start a new thread on the subject.

Next week my wife and I, and another couple following in their car, are travelling from Sydney across through Ballarat, etc, to the Victorian / South Australian border and then following the coast all the way back to Sydney.

Suggestions of places to stop and things to do would be appreciated as I have not travelled any of this area before.

How long have you got to do it?
You could go via Echuca on the Murray for a stop over. Lovely town
Then via Bendigo Castlemaine, Daylesford to Ballarat. (Sovereign Hill) All old towns with gold mining history
Not sure what is worthwhile further west but on the way back along the coast 12 apostles  great ocean road, Warrnambool, port Fairy, a lot of sailing history. I think it is Kenner trivet where there Ardmore koalas than trees
Then on to the greatest place in the world ...... Melbourne!
2013 Aussie Jays - Crusher      2013 Toyota Hilux.
