Well I'm thinking of putting a set of rear drawers in the back of my Dmax.i like feed back on what people have,what runners and value for money
Thanks in advance

Hey mate I got a dmax and made my own. It probably cost $200-300 or thereabouts and a weekend but turned out well
I couldn't justify the price tag of some of the brands I got quoted for which were in the vicinity of $2k

I brought a 2nd hand set of Outback Solution drawers from Gumtree.

Have you checked out eBay / Gumtree?

have you got some more details/pics of what you came up with?

materials, fittings to attach to ute tub?

JusyApples

I got the materials from bunnings
12mm ply
soft close draw slides
marine carpet
hinges/knobs
screws etc

Basic design is one sliding draw, one waeco fridge slide which I already had, two small pockets and two other storage compartments. There is also a gab between the tub and the draws where I usually stash snatch straps etc which fit nicely down there. I also wired up a switch panel and drilled that on the tub

Here are some pics, might be a little out of order

thanks for the pics... how did you attach the base to the tub?

JusyApples

I didn't want to drill into the tub, basically when I put the base down it hugs the sides of the tub so tight it needed a good hit will the mallet to get it in. Had to fiddle it a bit with sanding sides and things down to make it fit nicely but it definitely doesn't move.

If you use google sketchup you can design (and even better cut to size) off your design.  Its super simple to use and free.

Instead of drawer slides consider using HDPE strips from sheets like these;

http://www.theplasticshop.co.uk/polyethylene-sheet-hdpe-10mm-12mm-15mm-20mm-25mm-30mm-thick-3606-0.html

If you find a place that uses them you can buy offcuts pretty cheap.  Use two 10mm strips against each other with each one rebated into the ply halfway.  (15mm ply means you end up with 7mm of rebate on each and a gap of 6mm per drawer.

If you need a hand with sketchup design if you give me your dimensions I can do a draft and send it to you to finish off.
My alternative to cheap import trailers;

JusyApples

I hear drifta are quality with all their products.

Also see the 4wd supacentra are doing draws for about $800 for Utes. Titan draws I think they are called. No idea on the quality

These are mine. I got the fridge slide, fridge divider, kitchen on the right, large draw on the right (table above), side wings and 55lt water tank up near the head wall.

I got tie down points which I use for the storage box from my old CT kitchen.

Not when we going away! I remove the fridge, fridge slide, fridge divider and storage box when driving around town.

Great to hear. Love the drifta setup in my Colorado. Mark listened to exactly what I wanted and the quality is great. My old man was even that impressed he has drifta installing a set up in his jeep next month

Don't compromise on quality. Go Drifta, they are made to order, teflon runners are brilliant and they fit like a glove.
