Hey Rod

I dont know about dust but i think rain can knock them around I believe, some of my mates here in bundy have them in a fridge box on the back of there utes mainly for around farms ect .

How ever i have used my waeco on the back of my work ute with only a insulation bag on it in about 6 inches of rain and didnt seem to bother it .

But i would hate to see all those desert ingredients go off .

Hi Rod
I live in the desert, and have had a 21 litre Engel (and occasionally my 80 litre Waeco) in the back of my vehicle for ages.  With a cover neither fridge has ever been bothered, that is with the heat, the dust, and through some horrible tropical rain.

had my 40lt Engel in the back of my ute for years, Was inside the bag you get with them, other than that it's been through some torrid times, and still goes like new.  you shouldnt have any dramas.

Hi Rod,
I've seen a lot of utes with dirty dusty Engels on the back of them, I don't think your trip should worry it.
PS. We had a great W/end.
Cheers Paul.

:cheers:Hi Rodsswag, Ive got a 60 litre engel & carry it on the arse end of my hilux on a slider, so it gets
all the bumps & bashed around a lot, have been doing this for 7 years, outback, cape etc. haven't had a problem yet.
But I will tell you make sure you don`t have a tourney cover sitting on top of fridge, other wise you will over heat it,
fridge needs to breath, when parking up, park in shade if possible. Also make sure your fridge is secured tightly, strapped
down. Also check your warranty, Ive aways have had engels,& if something goes wrong with motor they have serviced it for free

Rod,

If you have a dual cab, I would look at removing the rear seat, installing a shelf & keeping it in there...we did when we went to the cape a few years back.
