Not quite sure what you are referring to..

The stick -> Well.. keeps the kids / wife / dogs etc in their place..
The cup -> Fill it with Bundy and cola mixed to your personal taste and enjoy...

The funny metal structure -> Looks like the jobbies they have all over the UK to remove mud & crud from your walking boots before entering a pub..

Just my 2c.

Dunno, never seen one.

But as it looks as if its next to a campfire id be using it to help me snap small branches in half by using my foot/body weight!

HAHA...  I thought it was a walking track it was next to, missed the fire place altogether. That would make more sense.

I am pretty sure it is an antiquated fire wood dissecting device, I have one in the truck as well and it is orange with sharp teeth.

Although I have tried the ones at Geehi and they work fine, just dont run into them in the night after a few coldies.

It's for the kids to lean their marshmallow sticks on over the fire, so they don't get sore arms.

I thought this was one of those jokes that takes me a while to get ;D I saw that the structure and stick make a shadow of an Axe so I thought it was some sort of joke about not needing axes in Qld ;D

Now that I understand what you're talking about, I was thinking to tie horses but seems a bit low for that.

And to close to the fireplace.  Seems to be placed there specifically for a use. Horse hobble points are usually a bit out of the way.

Ya beat me. I was about to say "Ankle Breaker", as I reckon that's about what I'd accomplish with it. Bonus points if you then fall into the fire.

Thanks!
Matto :)

Well that one's easy ... it's the result of not using a whipper snipper after / before mowing ... even Speewa could tell you that!!  Grass is way too high around that pointy torture seat for people who wish to separate their cheeks whilst around the fire.

Maybe it's where you put the ramps for budding young cyclists?
If there is one on the other side, maybe it's for a manually operated rotisierie?
Somewhere to put your foot whilst drinking beer around the fire?
Shin Skin Removal Tool?
Somewhere to lean your hot camp oven lid so it doesn't get any dirt and grime in the rim before you put it back on?
Could be some sort of "in camp" 4wd-ing tool?

Yes, right out of the way. In fact, down around the horses ankles. Hitching rails on the other hand, are usually right outside the bar.  ;D
