You'd think that would be the case, but (illogically), Coles isn't the one making the offer (they're completing the invitation to treat part). The customer is the one making the offer (to purchase) and the vendor is accepting that offer.

Agreed, the customer makes the offer and the vendor accepts or declines. I did have it backwards. But in the coles case has not the vendor accepted the offer by accepting payment for the online purchase?

Always be aware that Recommended Retail Price is just that a price recommend by the manufacturer. Very few stores will sell at this as it is an over inflated price so that retailers can say 20, 30 50% off the RRP.

Look at Jewellery stores what they offer in discounts. Unbelievable  ???

In the future you will find more competition from on line sellers who have very little over heads selling a lot cheaper than normal stores. Dont be surprised big retailers doing this more and more.

I am happy to pay a little more so that I can walk into a shop and browse for items and also if I want that item then and there. A good case is 10 metres of 6B&S cable is $140 from a local retailer but online I can get it for $109. It boils down to what you would buy online and what you are happy to pay extra for to walk into a shop.

Another laugh is resorts that quote a rack rate for a room which is so over priced its ridiclous. They never rent a room at that price but will quote a percentage off that rate.

Just remember your time is money and I have seen people spend $20 driving around to save $5.00.

Geez i'd better put my price up then if you are happy to pay $109 for 10m. I'd give you just under 20m for that.

I agree we have to support bricks and mortar stores, I one day want somewhere left for my kids to work. The way its going it isnt looking good.. That and price of houses cars and Shit, but I digress..

Theres times when you just need to look at reality. You can get Cable 6 B&S Dual Battery 30M Roll $117 on ebay. I'd be mentioning this to Mr Local man, and get him to buy it off ebay instead of his Aussie suppliers, and throw a few sheckles on top for his time and effort, then I'd buy off him, but not at triple the price. Sorry.

Well I went back to the store today and meet the owner

My wife was with me and we both agreed what a nice bloke. In fact I think I might go back there as I got good customer service.
