As strange as the trend is, they are yank swaggers in their own right, and batting for the same team/ side we belong to ( outdoor recreational users of bush/ natural environment) in a world where extreme green and political correctness would have groups like ours banned from national parks/ state forests or see the end of 4x4's in city / urban areas.
And i suppose the way i see it (as twisted as some might think THAt is) is that people like the one in the picture "idiot in a Jeep" i posted earlier, as the one who give the responsible users a bad name because the general public assume that what they see in the media is a truely representitive view of a group, rather than what some of the pics clearly display, which is a fringe element of the wider camper trailer/off roading community. These environmental do-gooders only need to quickly troll that forum, grab a few pics of airborne 4x4's and trailes and the enxt tihng we are all environmental terrorists.
I mean, i'm certanly all for preserving the enviornment and responsible camping andf off road practices, but really, what is the point of a national park etc, of the only way to see it is a 14 day hike, which so few of the community as a whole are capable/have the time to do!!!! Imagine if you had to stop your car 200km from Ayre's Rock (or Uluru if you prefer) and had to hike the remaining way in!!!!! Lets hope Bob Brown doesn't get into power....Oh wait.....Scratch that thought.....
anyway, the depicted style is certianly different from what this forum represents!!
