Hi guys, going to try and get around to making up some reading lights from the roll of leds I bought.

The tent bow that runs above the bed head is sleeved in canvas for the whole width of the camper. Any ideas on a good way to semi permanently fix a strip light to it? I guess I could screw a piece of aluminium through the canvas and tent bow and stick the leds to that? Any other ideas?

Magnets might work but they'd need to be bloody strong.

Cheers, Sam.

We stitched some Velcro backed strips to the tent roof then attached Velcro backed LED lights to it. Worked fine although during the cooler months we got a bit a condensation on the roof which took a bit longer to dry out at the point where the Velcro was attached to the roof. Didn't affect the lights at all.

A couple of cheap plastic clamps with a length of aluminium screwed to it with the LED strip attched to the aluminium. Just clamp it up when you want it and remove it or use it somewhere else if wanted.

Is it possible to put the strip of lights on one of the vertical sections of the tent bow?  We've done this, and still get a good spread of light in the camper.

Im using this ally T shape, LED on each side of the T, and either Pole clips, or ... something Im not sure on yet. Mate of mine uses cable ties everytime we pull up

That is what I used Sam. They work well.

Rare earth magnets for sure. That's all we use for some 1.5m lengths, holding very narrow alu strips inside our tent. We just fold it up, and they're still there when we unpack.

Thanks Spargo and Crisp.

I got mine here - http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=250848030947&ssPageName=ADME:L:OU:AU:1123#ht_4984wt_765

They seemed to be the best shape for what I was after although more expensive than the ones from Hong Kong. They also do custom shapes which is worth knowing.

Cheers, Sam.
