"Andrew Sturgess of QFES said the events of the last couple of weeks are evidence that the warnings of more frequent and more extreme fires caused by climate change had arrived."

So we just blame it on Climate Change and that somehow makes it okay?  Just no logic in that thinking.  If there is an increase risk of fire, or more extreme fires lets do something positive about reducing the fire risk, or even the fire intensity?  Let's be 'Green' and just walk away from years of hard learnt fire hazard reduction management and let everything plant and animal burn.  That's real 'Green' logic.

Not sure where you read that? More frequent and or more extreme fires simply means they'll need to review the strategies to prevent and combat them.

... but they don't.. It's not as easy as some people think to arrange hazard reductions with all the 'interested parties' and approvals required compared to 25yrs ago when I played.

Regardless of political preference hopefully so good Fire Management Practices come out of it.
not of the greens hold the deciding vote.
There have been reports in the past with similar recommendations.
lots of fist waving and strong speeches by the member for "notdoingverymuch" - with the must have nodding bloke behind them, but nothing changes.
