« on: January 27, 2012, 10:35:33 AM »
I,m not tech savy so not sure if this is a good deal or not but got an ipad 64gb for $679.00 now I just need to work out how to use it.

The Mrs trolled the internet for best price then a local retailer (good guys) was prepared to match the price .

Thanks guys, :D

It's hard when your buying things you know nothing about ,you get worried your getting ripped, I now know how people feel when they are shoppiong for solar.

She pulled a deal on a 32gb ipod touch as well for $290.

We were going to put headrest dvd players in for the cape but decided this was a better direction to go. more options ,music, movies, games ,photo taking ,vid recording ect. an all rounder.

one question is is now customary to tip my hat other ipad users ;D

Bought one of those $60 Aldi portable BBQ's the other week.  Havn't used it yet, but the attempt at the original grille and hotplate leave allot to be desired.

Was rummaging through the scrap steel pile at the inlaws and came accross a piece of 3/16" plate steel about the right size.  took it home and it only required 100mm taken off one side to fit (455mm X 350mm), plus rounding off the corners.  The steel had a nice 6mm cup in the middle, so I drilled 2 8mm holes either side of where the burner is and the fat and oil should drain out nicely.  Plate was a little rust pitted more than I would have liked, but after an hour of seasoning in the weber kettle it's come up nice.

Total cost...  ;D

The grills and plates they come with actually work really well, especially the plate

Scored an old engel 29l fridge for 40bux at a garage sale. Spotted it in the garage, had no price tag on it. I asked the lady how much, and she told me it wasnt part of the garage sale. Then she said i could have it for 50 bux.

I bartered her down to 40 just to be a prick. ;)

Works a treat. Someone will be pissed whem they get home though.

BLACKPINE turbo tents - Identical to Blackwolf.

Just had mine delivered from the USA, the quality is second to none, quality and materials are identical to Blackwolf. but half the price. the front awning is in my opinion a better design and larger than the Blackwolf equivalent. Erected the tent for the first time yesterday arvo in 20mins, next time I'm sure it will be half that time.

Picked up an old Porta Potti 265 for $21.50, it's a bit old, it's a bit knocked around on the outside but in perfect working order and the important part is it will keep the other half happy when she wants to go to the loo in the middle of the night.  ;D

Just pulled down the tent and packed it away in it's bag,  very simple one man job - 7mins  :cup: (including wiping down the damp floor after rain last night) then erected it again to see whether it is as the name suggests a "turbo" tent it took 5mins (one man) including pegging down the optionional heavy weather guy ropes :cup: . Very happy with this it has to be one of my best buys. ;D ;D ;D
Sorry you missed out Heath74.  :'( If you join the site and I think they will advise when they're back in stock?

Seems like the only cheap things in supacheap are in their catologues.  I was in there today to buy a tow ball cover.  I seen them at the local Jayco Dealer this week for $4 and Supa Cheap wanted $7 for it....

I did pick up a solar powered water sprinkler that floats in the pool and sprays water up in the air for $9  great novelty item...although the dog keeps jumping in the pool chasing it as it floats around.... :D

There may be some interested here:
Graysonline have listed some things that appear to be from the CUB factory in North Rocks.

Included in the lisings are what looks like a full camper part finished camper and a couple of bodies minus the chassis.

Here's the catalogue

Happy bidding!

Just bought a brand new engel 57 litre combi for $999 plus $100 from a transit cover, where is that happy dance emoticon?  Reduced price because of slight imperfections in top lid powder coat and the inside moulded plastic.  I could not see the mark in the top lid and the moulded plastic inside has a grey mark smaller than a 5 cent piece.  Still comes with full three year warranty, happy days ;D

Aldi have on sale on Saturday 18th Feb a vacuum food sealer for $79.99. The brand is Lumina. Does anyone have any experience with this model. What I would like to know is if when the seal is made is it a wide strip say 5mm or only by a heated wire. I had a vacuum sealer previously and it was sealed and cut by a heated wire that was pretty ordinary.
Aldi on the same day also have 2 x 28cm wide x 6m long rolls for $14.99.

We have one of the Aldi  vacuum sealers and it has worked flawlessly for the past couple of years.  The seal is about 4mm and is very easy to use.  Over the years I have found Aldi hit and miss with their products. This is one I can recommend.  The other thing I can recommend with Aldi is their return policy, just keep the receipt. 8)
