Title: Cape York 2009 Members Trip DVD
Post by: McGirr on May 29, 2010, 11:19:16 AM

Thanks to JK for compiling this dvd. I need someone who can run off some copies as I think members heading to the Cape next year will enjoy watching. I can post my copy to who ever can do it.

It is a great DVD better than the Gall Boys. ;D

Who ever does it can charge some $ to cover postage etc.

Actually now I think about it I don't have a copy.  It is at Long100's being copied!!

I'd be more than happy to make copies for anyone that wanted one as long as someone could tell me how and maybe you could send me your original McGirr.  ;D

McGirr. Why don't you see if Brett will host it on the site. We can then all down load it. You could make it an I-Pod format (MP4) which would still be fine for most of us to watch and only a few Gig, just a thought.

Oh dear, had I known this little gem was going to go public I would have put copyright on it.  ;D .  I know little about computers but if it could be hosted on the site it would make it a lot easier for everyone................................awaiting a computer guru to offer advice,............. the vid does show all of the obstacles you will face on the trip so it will undoubtedly help the members with their trip preparations.  :cup:

How many DVD's are we talking bout ? Doing the DVD's is the easy part it's the logistics of collecting the small individual cost for the disk, protective packaging and postage.

Is it possible to upload it onto youtube? If you want to send down to me I will try and convert it for youtube if you like. I am also happy to duplicate and post out to people if no one else can do it easily depending on the quantity.

It's about 2hours 52min in length

I don't think duration should be a problem, just as long as the file stays under 1 gig from memory, you should be adle to upload. Would need to look into that. But at 2h 52min in length it sound like a mini movie to rival some of the Hollywodd greats.  ;D ;D

The video is DVD quality so is around 7-8Gb in size ...... Uploading sounds like a good idea for some. Though I think most are going to want to see this move in all of it glory ;D Top work by JK and his assistant camera man  I finally have my new editing software so will make a copy tonight / tomorrow and see how long it takes and check the quality. JK what software did you use originally .... I burned a copy from disk a couple of months ago with my old software and the sound was only stereo ie very muffled. The original must have been multi channel ??? My new software does 5.1 encoding so it should in theory be much better 8)

Yogi we had about 12 goes at the editing on this one ( had about 5 hours of footage to start with ) because the computer was having a hissy fit each time we asked it to publish the finished produce. In the end I thing we ended up using Windows movie maker,.....................you know I'm seriously computer challenged  ;D
