Title: Information sought
Post by: garryc on May 10, 2020, 03:20:01 PM
When I first moved into my home about 5 years ago this was out the front. Finally looking at disposing of it but have no idea what it is

thanks

Looks cool, but I have no idea what it is either.

Some of that old stuff is sought after..... don't throw it.

Mid north coast NSW
Hallidays Point
My first thoughts were looks old and cool maybe I should keep it.
Wife says there are enough old things around home as it is.

The open bit on the left.

Is that a handle on the back of it?

Does it move at all?

Cream seperator.

Usually hand winded, they must have been putting a lot of milk thru it...

I agree with Mace - I too think it is a cream separator. As others have said it has value. I have a bit of old farm gear around my place. Previous owners paid a bit for most of it. I would definitely be interested if you were a tad closer. Whack an ad on Gumtree and you might be pleasantly surprised.

Ok thanks guys.
If not for council cancelling bulk rubbish collection I would have just put it on the roadside for collection Unfortunately too big for a swagmail

Drag around the corner where the wife can't see it.

The Farm Wrecks Rusty Relics FB page would be a goer.

Would make a great mount for a mailbox.

Should be a brass ID plate pinned to it somewhere, or a name cast into it .. Lister ? .. Mc Cormack Deering ? .. our cream seperator on the farm was flat belt driven by one of these little jiggers ..
Give it a good go over with oil  or clear coat and  plant a bushy  drapping type plant in the seperator bowl area, use it as a garden feature .

Strip it back and with a coat of paint will look cool, mail box idea is a good one.
