Title: DIY Happy Wanderer
Post by: xcvator on December 27, 2019, 07:59:05 PM
Several years ago there was a thread describing a diy tv antenae very similar to a "happy wanderer" system made with pvc tubing and copper wires, I've done a bit of a search for it but no luck, if anybody can remember the thread or can recall how it was done, please let me know :cup:

They are basically two lengths of alloy solid bar 10mm dia each fitted inside lengths of pvc pipe with a T fitting joining them. the balum is held in place and connected to the two alloy sections by a self tapper through the pvc and into the alloy. I'll measure it up if you would like .
Never had much luck in poor reception areas with it. Last trip down to Busselton , couldnt pick up any stations and ended up getting a caravan one from bunnings which came with an amp with a signal strength meter on it.  lot easier to set antenna up with the lights to guide by.  Its built a lot stronger than a house one.
