Craig,
I had a 2006 100 series GXL V8 petrol for three years till late 2013 fitted with bull bar and winch but otherwise standard. She was a thirsty girl. Ran on E10 with no appreciable difference on PULP.
The best I ever got was 15 l/100k going from Sydney to Canberra at 80kph with my learner daughter behind the wheel. The same return trip at freeway speeds got 21.
Around town and in stop start traffic anywhere from 20-25.
Towing an enclosed furniture trailer at speed was about 26, the same as 4WD-ing in steep country.
Lovely car to drive but she didn't mind a drink. Averaged 22.3 over the three years.

Is it a 2H with a Turbo or the factory 12HT turbo?
If a 12HT turbo, then they're going from about $10k upwards - really good ones have asking prices of around $18k.
2H+T? They're probably still $8k ish.

Thanks Paddler. Yes just a 2H with aftermarket turbo been on sense new running low boost 380,000ks on the clock rebuilt gearbox in ok nick with a little rust here and there, Craig

Keith is spot on. I have 2 mates with 100series with a 4.5, will be 20L/100km + most of the time, towing 25+.

Craig, I could sell your mate a silver 100 s GXL auto 4.5litre with dual fuel (LPG). Don't know much about it otherwise than I believe it is a thirsty car, hence the gas conversion. This one belonged to my brother who past away last year leaving behind a collection of vehicles, (car is in Sydney) which we are still to sort out.

Thanks for the offer Rags, but if my mate does buy one it was going to be off his brother, Craig

I've not long sold my 96 petty 80 series, same as the 4.5 hunjy just a different tin house on top. They are thirsty trucks plain and simple. If you are prepared for it then it will come as no surprise. No amount of mods or driving styles will change the consumption figures. Luckily mine wasn't my daily.
Cheers, Mike.

Thanks CB 80, They would have good power but, He was just after an auto for his misses to drive and he can still go up the beach in, as she has a V6 dunny door that keeps playing up, Craig
