Title: Teewah beach
Post by: Craig Tomkinson on December 20, 2018, 06:11:25 PM
Hi All, My wife and I and our 4 kids headed up Teewah for a drive today in the old 80 just got back, Beach was flat and wide and once we got up to the camp ground there was buggerall there most camps had about 50m between them, Hundreds of blue bottles on the beach we had to go over DI bay for a swim, Craig

The calm before the storm. ;)

Good to hear you had a nice trip, wouldn’t want to be anywhere near the place in a couple of weeks time.

we camped at Noosa Northshore 4 Xmas's ago due to a mates misses not wanting to camp on the beach, I was pretty peeved about it as I really wanted to beach camp instead....then we went for a drive up the beach, made me glad we weren't camped in the refugee camp like conditions the beach looked like. The van park limited numbers due to only X amount of toilet facilities allowing so, I was sceptical when the park manager mentioned it when we booked months earlier, but turned out great in the end...we had an entire cul de sac area of our own group, kids could run around and we not worry about them getting run over.

Sorry all for adding to an old thread, but didn't really want to start a new one.
Just looking for current beach condition reports and photos after the wind and tides of the last week. Who has been up there? Are rocks exposed ?
I'm heading up there Sunday 10th March til the following Sunday with caravan in tow. Low tide both ways. Thanks in advance.
Nigel

The Rainbow Beach towing site appears to focus on DI north. I'm interested in the stretch between Noosa North Shore and the Freshwater Track. Will do as suggested and PM Nomad. Thanks all for the feedback - much appreciated.

Hey 3rd,

I havent been on for a while...life job stuff.........I havent been up since oma hit but was up there sunday week ago. The beach was in pretty good nick then. Most of the open beaches on the coast have had a fair bit of erosion but would still be driveable on low tide, if you could drive on them, northshore shouldnt be too much different.
Ill ask around and see if anyone has gone to Rainbow this week, given the surf has dropped right off I doubt anyone I know has been up to get away from the crowds.

If in doubt go!

Thanks,  suspected as much. That's not so much of a concern,  it was whether rocks were exposed just north of the beach entry point into Teewah as they were several years ago. Looks okay though.

Thanks Nomad, much appreciated.
Only other question - has there been any rain? Total fire ban in place last time I checked the National Park website.

Atleast a lot of the sites will be cleansed and refreshed of the human left behinds a bit,  after the big wash ..

Unfortunately, everyone seems to disappear up into the dunes for that so it's probably all still there, should be made a requirement to have a toilet from my perspective, it can be putrid up behind the campsites.

Nah it’s been windy with only a few showers.
Not sure if the fire ban is still in place as I haven’t looked at the NP website
