Big open day at the RAAF base at Amberley, if anyone has any interest in that sort of thing.
We're gunna have a look, should be a bit of hoot having a look through.
We can take the Fleetwood too, as there is a classic car display on the day.

Gotta be happy about that. ;D :cup:

Was based there, might go back for a look.

From Greenbank, you'd be there before you had the choke pushed all the way in.

Yep, joined the airforce to see the world, got posted half an hour from home.

Wonder in todays economic climate, if the machinist shops will be feeding Ally and Brass rod through the CNC lathes, Spitting out bucket fulls of .50 Cal and 7.62 dummy bullets and the metal work shop pounding out Ally ashtrays on the Planishing hammers and passing them out to the kids like lollies ;D

Here's a link with the info for anyone interested. It's not an air display like they used to have in the good 'ol days, it's an open day in the Amberley heritage centre. You'll need to take photo ID and a completed copy of the form with you as the display center is within the base (no ID, no entry - under 16 excepted).
The open days are run on the 3rd Sunday of each month.
