Years ago, and by that I mean 30 to 40 years, I remember a survey done that asked for the most respected professions.
Judges & Magistrates, Bank Managers, Politicians and News Presenters topped the results, and Used Car Salesmen, Real Estate Agents and Lawyers/Solicitors were fighting at the bottom.
How things have changed. Politicians and Bank Managers are now the bottom feeders, closely followed by Lawyers and the like are still there and the Magistrates/Judges are trying hard to blend in with them.
I'd like to see one of these soft touch Magistrates or their spouse get beat up by a thug let off with a lack of serious punishment, and see how the second penalty went.
When this cretin re-offends, the victim should be able to sue the Judge/Magistrate for damages, the same with Parole Board members for re-offending criminals let out early on parole.

The judge stated the offender had not learned from earlier penalties imposed on him.  Well why not impose a penalty that would teach the prick a lesson he would be mindful of next time he felt like punching someone?

Instead of judges wearing their curly wigs black robes and the wooden hammer they bash,  thinking their s**t don't stink they should swap them for a red nose, painted face, big floppy shoes and a bulb air horn. After all they are no better than clowns anyway.

Yeah

"In 2009, Valusaga was sentenced to nine years in jail for the manslaughter of 18-year-old Solomone Christopher Latu."

"he had progressed within a company he joined in 2013"

"pleading guilty to assaulting 22-year-old Kume Harris in January 2017."

Now, please give me a break here because I'm only doing these sums off the top of my head, not using a calculator >:D, but 2009 + 9 = 2018, I think ???

So WTF was he able to join a company in 2013, after being charged with manslaughter ??? & "Valusaga had gone to a party armed with a knife and meat cleaver, to seek revenge on the people who had beaten up his younger brother", doesn't make it accidental - he was there to get someone, so WTF is he back out on the street ??? >:(

Pity the next poor bastard who blows their horn at him when he cut's them of at the lights :'(

It is a big eye opener, thats for sure ...  You walk out and shake your head in disbelief at the comments and sentences given by the judge ..

Was listening to that on JJJ yesterday afternoon. Big day at Byron Bay court house handing out good behavior bonds after the raids on the recent music festival down there.

One young lady caller that had just been in court that day getting her good behavior bond was asked if the whole being found in possession of drugs by the cops and having to go to court thing would change her behavior.
She answered straight up; “well I’ll be more careful so I don’t get caught next time.”

So you’ll keep using drugs at music festivals?

“Yeah, most likely.”
