Yes I know, someone shoot me. Another McGirr Adventure.
After an incredible trip with members tackling the Kimberely this year, we chatted about a trip from Broome to Esperance and exploring the west coast of WA.
It will not be until 2022 and will be timing it with the wild flowers along the coast as well as visiting other places. We have roughly over 3 years to plan it.

I will not be asking for any interest as yet as we are still deciding the time factor in doing a trip this big and also the dates.
Mark
Ps Garrick can you put this up on the child board.
Will do Mark, have put in a request to upper management. Will also list my interest in this one

Well that didn't take long..... ;D :cup:

I think we will all be eligible for pensioner discounts by then ;D
Mark
I'm going to register interest anyway, hopefully I can make this one.

You better. We are not getting any younger. ;D

After doing the Kimberly with you and checking out the wildflowers on the way home, I'm sure this will be a great trip :cup:
Early stages and things can change but this is a rough plan.

The rough time frame traveling would be between 4 to 6 months. We want to be around the areas between May to October for the wildflowers and swimming with the whale sharks if possible.

Mark, that would clash with the National Meet.

Weren't they??
Apologies for the changes again but after discussions with Penny we are back on track to tackle the West in 2022.
As we have not spent a Xmas with family since December 2014, we have always been in remote areas working, we have decided that we will take December 2021 till July 2022 off work so that we can catch up with family for a Xmas and then head off in Feb 2022 for 4 or 5 months exploring WA.
Again apologies for the changes.
Mark
We are aiming for both. Tas for sure and WA maybe be for part of the trip and I may have to get Sharon to fly over. Will be a HSC year so see how we go. May have a new bed to bring by then.😁

That's our plan as well. Tassie in 2021, and WA in 2022.

Kay and I did your Part 1 of your plan in 2011, so we'd probably join up in Perth or thereabouts....

what a great trip that one will be - will have to live vicariously through you guys, as I know I can't get 3-4 months off work (and domestic duties)
I am interested to. My wife and furry friend have decided that they would like to do some travelling. the cape 2021 first, then hopefully wa with the legendary Mark McGirr in 2022. I'm trying to find a decent hard floor reasonably priced to take. Would we make it to Shark Bay, I have relations there. Been a long time Mark I hope you still remember me.
BERT
Bert, we are in Beswick NT. Running a social club.
Room for you and the misses and your fur baby anytime.
Great to see you back on here.
Send me a pm anytime.

Hi Mark. I've been trying to get a camper that suits my needs. User friendly and can handle rough conditions and my driving. I hope to be able to join your adventure. Just need to replace the gearbox in my bt first. Would be great to catch up.
Bert
Gearbox done. But I've been unable to find a camper that I like. I've been looking at MDC forward folds (Jacksons and highside cruisers). These 2 mainly for their wheel bearing size. It's hard to get technical data on some campers.
Bert
Trip postponed until things change in the future.
Mark
G'Day Mark....... Holly and i are real keen on this West Aussie. trip. We were heading that way any way.
We will follow the trip details with anticipation.
Cheers Wayne.
PS. Is it dog friendly trip ?. Ochre is wondering ?
